My wife's suburban has a little over 200,000 miles on it, were not going to upgrade right away, but we will need to in the next few years. My brother-in-law was asking if we were committed to another suburban and I told him we can't downsize yet with the ages of the kids, so the next car will have to be a suburban, yukon xl, or an expedition max. He mentioned that the Jeep Wagoneer might work, I didn't even know that Jeep made a big SUV like that.
Does anyone have any experience with the Jeep Wagoneer?
Thanks,
Robert Martin

I had one in the 90's. No clue what new ones are like. Had one in the 70's too. First one had 3 on the tree. Second had an automatic. Liked them both. Would all but climb trees.

My experience happened so long ago it's hardly relevant to discussing a modern Wagoneer but I took a lot of fur in an 81 wagoneer when it was about 10 years old.
Fur prices weren't any too good at the time but I was learning to trap dry land and loved every minute of it.

Jeep prices have increased significantly since the pandemic, making some models unaffordable for many buyers. Wrangler: Sales of the Wrangler fell by 3% in 2024, from 156,581 to 151,163 units. Gladiator: Sales of the Gladiator fell by 24% in 2024, to 42,123 units. Grand Cherokee: Sales of the Grand Cherokee fell by 12% in 2024, to 216,148 Is what google says. IMO its all those golf cart looking things with cabs. Most people dont buy one for its intended use. Some of us still do. There have been sales drops before. I will be surprised if they go under.

Thanks, do you need 4wd ? if not I would look hard at the GM / Chevy Savanna / Express vans , vans don't have the just because it is a truck or suv extra cost and they basically haven't changed the design on them in 20 years so parts and lack of experimental fuel savings and emissions garbage isn't as prevalent. that is what I was looking at for my next vehicle but it is going to be a while now.
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Robert, I don’t know what model year you are looking at. we looked at new Yukons and the price gave us some pause. Same with the new wagoneers. In fact I remember saying to myself out loud evidently too, how much for a friggin jeep??!!! We ended up with a new gmc Acadia (new style) and my wife loves it. She got one of the higher trim models too and still came in way below the new yukon or wagoner. Roomy enough for our crew, all adults and friends, all wheel drive, not bad on gas (has a turbo 4-banger) and in recent bad weather she said it did excellent on highways and up through Omaha area in traffiic in slick conditions. We took it last Monday in a snowstorm and -20 day for about three hours from our house to Wayne state college. Youngest was invited up for their honors program. It was pretty much us and a few big cattle trucks out that day on the roads. I was thoroughly impressed how it handled in those conditions. She loves it. We had both dodge and Honda vans, we had a Tahoe, we had Pilots, and she said this thing by far is her favorite vehicle she’s drove. Anyway, just sharing our experience. Jim

4 wheel drive is a must, we have approximately 4 miles of rough dirt road to get to our house, our house is at 3,300 feet elevation so we can get substantial snow that stays for a while. This year the suburban was grounded for about a week when we got 15 inches of snow, I have 2 sets of tire chains that we Ieft on the pickups to get around a little bit and feed cows... Plus I like to be able to take the family car in the mountains with the whole family. Seating a min. of 7 is a must, seating for 8 is preferred. It looks liek Jeep started making the wagoneer again in 2022, in 2 years we would be looking for a 5~6 year old model with less than 100,000 miles on it. ...We ended up with a new gmc Acadia (new style) ... we might be able to go this route, but I don't think we could give up the cargo space and seating for 8. The kids are 8, 10, 12 and 14 right now, and I think we will need 1 more full-sized (suburban) sized SUV, then I hope to downsize to the Acadia or something like that...

All trucks sales are down over the last 4 years including Dodge,Ford,Chevy,Gmc,and jeep.

I had a 68 back in 74, came with a 350 Buick engine. Hardly anyone had 4-wheel drive back then. I had a lot of fun in that one. Sorry I didn't help with your question.
