Too tired to type much on the phone, central Ontario stunner of a hunt.
2 short of a limit, 38 geese. Just finished processing 30 of them with my brother.

Nice job. Are the Canadian geese returning, or are they resident all Winter?

Awesome Day!!! I haven't hunted geese in 20 years. I always loved the sport.

Hi guys, was off line for a bit to have some pizza and a beer. We are about wiped out LOL.
This is a conservation control season to deal with residents.
Limits are not like this during regular season. Possession limits are also waived
That is indeed a heathen chessie. Both good dogs, I am not able to drag mine (black lab) along on this trip.

Just happy to be here.

Technically, they’re called Canada geese. Not Canadian. But should we start calling them 51st geese?

Nice. Your limit is 38 ours is 1. I quit hunting geese years ago because of the limit. Anyway, our limit allows you more geese, so I guess that's a good thing.

Spike, where I live the limit is 2 during regular season because of concern for the "James Bay flock"
These geese are not migrators (for the most part) and are generally a nuisance.
I am surprised Va limit is so low, is it statewide or just near the coast?

Much effort has go into the northern populations migration times and special spring seasons are adjusted to cease as these northern birds start north.
They have a special 1/2 inch tube cemented to a regular band and these measure the daylight time and date so they know where they are in migration, some of these bands have lasted 4 years when recovered.
Unfortunately some of these banding programs have been cancelled by the current US administration
