Same. When I finally got cable in the mid 90s at my own place, I binge watched MTV for a week.

I started watching it at a friends not too long after it came out. We would watch it for hours, and late into the night. It was my favorite channel on cable for a long time. It was the best early on. Anyone remember the acid rain commercial they used to have on MTV with all kinds of stuff screaming when the drop of acid rain touched it. It always cracked me up.

I always worked, was in school, or doing homework so never saw it.
Met a great gal. On Friday nights, we would get a pizza and a bottle of good German wine and watch some MTV. We have now been married 40 years.

My mother blocked MTV back when I was in elementary school, because she didn't want me to watch Beavis and Butthead. She thought it was the worst show ever.
