So had somone bring one over for me to try and fix.... well after a bore scope and watching him beat it open sick I told him the barrel is scrap metal the plug is probably welded in by rust the whole thing needs a new barrel , it's missing the front and rear sight no scope base .... Told him I might work on it as a personal project probably just hang it up int the wall maybe...mabye... but I doubt it would be worth more than $50 in its current condition. Maybe more if he parted it out . The receiver was still good but other then that ....Asked me what Id give him and told him honestly $20 .....well $20 and a few scowls from the wife later crazy he was happy because apparently he only paid $30 for it off the last guy so crazy guess I got something to do with all this muzzleloader stuff a friend gave me

Once you get that plug out, you could have yourself a $100 gun? It’ll take some time and good soaking, but new sites and cleaned up good, you should get more that your $20 back…lol

If you can get it cleaned up it'd be a fun experiment to see how accurate it is still

If you could heat it up and break it free, I would order a new breech plug. Clean the threads and put some breech plug grease in it and it will be like a new one.

Might have a decent shooter. Never know.

Since we went to strait wall season you can't even give one away. Even in good condition.

Tip it up while open, soak the plug area with a standing pool of WD-40 or other lube, and let it stand over night. With a PROPER breech plug wrench, you will probably get the plug out. Then run many patches of Hoppes #9 through the barrel. After that, if there is obvious corrosion in the barrel, run a couple tight patches of Bore Butter through and finish with dry patches until clean.
Then head to the range. You will find shooting those "modern" muzzle loaders a great deal of fun.
Also, as advised above, a new plug is a good idea, and not expensive. And google the manufacturers website, looking for SAFETY. There are a few very important things to be aware of shooting modern, (in-line), muzzle loaders. They are not plug-and-play.
