John - I vaguely remember a 3 day sale at Powell Butte - a suburb of Prineville. Must have been in the 80s. Building was so small, we had fur everywhere. Were you at that sale? Powell Butte was my first sale. I am thinking early to mid 70's. Had three called in coyotes that I had stretched on 2X4's. $7 for all three. My fur handling education started there. Odd how coyote prices are about the same this year.

True. Nutria by the hundreds. And decent prices too. Ah, the good old days. Do you remember the first OTC sales? I believe they were first incorporated in WA. I know there was a sale at Rochester WA that went 7 days. I don't remember the year but sometime in the 70s. I was told it was reincorporated in OR because the laws were friendlier. Seems like I was told that one sale sold $7 million in furs. Of course, that was about the first trapper auction and fur came in from all over the west.
