My first truck was a 1978 Chevy Scottsdale 4x4 in Hawaiian Blue. 350, 4 speed with 4:10 or 4:11 gears. Rally wheels and dual tanks (because you needed them as mileage was around 10 mpg). Cloth seats, but no AC. Dual exhaust running glass packs.
I was 18 and it was a ‘panty pealer’

I'll have to dig to find a picture later on. It was a 1989 Ford F-150 single cab short wide Lariat. 5.0L 302 V8. Manuel Warn locking hubs for the 4x4. It was an awesome tan or buckskin color. I wrecked it as a sophomore in high school. My dad helped me find a donor parts truck in similar color and we rebuilt it with my uncle. Ended up adding a brush guard as well. Then came the 6" suspension lift and 37" boggers and the off road lights LOL!! The motor is since blown, but I di still have it. I have a son of my own now and plan to rebuild it in the future at some point with him and my wife.

Glad this thread popped back up. Wanted to share a picture of my first truck, '62 Chevy stepside 4X4 with a 327 V-8, and the first buck I killed with a traditional muzzle loader back in 1973. The winch got me in and out of more trouble than I like to remember. Finally drove it in a raveen and wrecked it up pretty bad. I told a guy if he wanted to get it out he could have it for $300. Like

1969 baby blue ford f100 ranger. Had an aluminum tool box in back and i made a frame with flat across top of rest of the bed with plywood doors that opened upward on sides and back and locked when closed. Kept all of my framing tools, nails, electrical saws and chords, etc in that and it was my work truck for framing houses. Jim
Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.
