Factory in New Haven, Connecticut during WW2 Winchester was contracted to produce the M1 Garand in 1940 with the first completed rifle rolling off the production line on January 10, 1941. I fired the M1 back in the day. The clip would fly out after the last round was fired. That rifle actually had a true clip which many folks erroneously call a rifle magazine sometimes. We explain the difference in our firearms training classes every session. Interesting photo.
My doctor suggested I start doing squats, so I moved all the beer to the bottom shelf of my fridge.

513000 doesnt seem like a lot considering there was 9 million in the army and marines combined That's just Winchesters total, near 5 1/2 million were made in total.

Everyone got in on military contracts. Winchester, Remington, H&R, US Postal Meter, Singer, International Harvester, IBM, etc.
I have nothing clever to put here.

M1 was the rifle used in WW2 mostly. The clip was awkward to load and put into the rifle.

M1 was the rifle used in WW2 mostly. The clip was awkward to load and put into the rifle. I love watching guys push the follower down with the bolt open and watching them get "Garand Thumb". The rifle made a very distinctive PING on the 8th shot as it threw the empty enbloc out the top.
I have nothing clever to put here.
