Can someone give me a plausible explanation for the muskrat average being the lowest in this sale I've seen at any sale anywhere ?

Most misspelled furbearer on the planet Even worse is calling them pine martin/marten. Pine marten are a European species of marten, along with the stone and beech marten.

One can find the species we want to pick on but it is plain to see that every species dropped from just last year and some were only half or even less then last year. The general downward trends are continuing with the length of tunnel looking pretty long as of yet.
Bryce Not entirely true. Cats and fisher were up from last year's averages.
Just give me one thing, that I can hold on to. To believe in this livin' is just a hard way to go.

Martin........you'd think trappers would know better! Right on Bruce. LOL......you would think Spell check is most likely the culprit. It does it to me every time, with that word, when typed on my phone. . I have been called out by the school teacher types on this site every time it's happened.

Yikes, I don’t like the looks of those coyote prices. I'll bet there there were some late wooly and ruled coyotes.

Yikes, I don’t like the looks of those coyote prices. I’ll hope so. I know coyotes aren’t worth much but mine look way better than 20 dollar bills.

Yikes, I don’t like the looks of those coyote prices. I'll bet there there were some late wooly and ruled coyotes. I was told by a buyer that was there that it was a pretty good collection of coyotes, better than most years. And for no coyote market, $17 was pretty good. And yes, Nancy is spot on about Montana rats not being comparable to great lakes area rats, Wisconsin has darn good rats in places and make tiny, papery Montana rats look pretty poor.

I'll bet there there were some late wooly and ruled coyotes. I will bet there were some good coyotes too, considering Montana produces some of the best coyotes in the US. Montana rats don't compare to ND rats even. ND is not know for a great rat.

Thank you to all who helped put on the fur sale , it's never a easy job and very time consuming to say the least !
You're friend along the snare line . Allan
