Hey folks,
I'm looking at several 330's and am wondering what brand they are.
I took a pic with a poor flip fone and it is worthless.
Only marking I see is MTI stamped on the dogs.
Might buy them pretty cheap, just like to know what they are.
Thanks,
smile

Montgomery is correct unless it's a replaced dog on them. Some if not all them had complete closure jaws on them, somewhat like the Belisle.

I had some MTI 600's that were like this but were closer to 280 sized. I loved the bend, the springs had big eyes but weren't incredibly strong.

I have nothing clever to put here.

Thanks !
These look to be in real good condition. The jaws don't bend inward, but do close up pretty tight, iirc.
What would you say is a reasonable $ if I were to offer to buy em ?

The last Montgomeries I had I finally threw into a creek and good riddance. Always sprung with nothing in them.

What do you attribute that to ?
Bad trigger arrangement ?
Poor, weak springs ?
Or ... ?

Thanks,
smile

I don’t recall any particular thing. It was a long time ago but I believe NewHouse114 had the same results. They looked like they should work but they rarely did.

I never knew Montgomery made 330s. Their footholds were great traps, though.

Had a half dozen of those MTI's years ago. I had no problem with them. Caught lots of beaver in them. But unlike beaverpeelers mine were set in mostly stagnant water not rivers. Maybe this was the difference.
Sold them to pay for the divorce along with a lot of other traps and such. Looking back now it was a good trade!

Well, the 6 of em' went for $59.
If I'd needed a few, I would have bid them up a little more.
Thanks !
