Great photo. That's a lot of weight on that pole, it looks rather stressed. I wouldn't stand that close to it.
My doctor suggested I start doing squats, so I moved all the beer to the bottom shelf of my fridge.

I did a Google search of the image and it pointed me to a neat article by Patrick Durkin about the origin and history of the photo. https://www.themeateater.com/conservation/anthropology/the-greatest-moose-hunt-that-never-wasHere is the uncropped version of the photo. Long story short, it's from somewhere in Canada and reproduced by someone in Madison in 1933. Wisconsin didn't have a deer season in 1933 and the last moose was harvested here more than a decade earlier. Very nice

I would think that would have been around land of lakes area more likely
Rockefeller had his "camp" on the Michigan size and Jim Lowenstine owner of Central Steel had his on the WI side they joined each other on the border.
they were the steel barrons of the US
when Jim passed in 1996 the conserve school foundation was formed to turn his camp into a outdoor education school.
my son and I toured it in 2019 , if he had gone he would have been there a few weeks before covid hit.
guys with Mauser rifles in 1933 had $$
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.
