I use venison in my meatloaf and use eggs, oatmeal, seasonings and my homemade salsa instead of ketchup. I also put some brown sugar or maple syrup in mine as well

Susan makes meat loaf with the Lipton onion soup, Worcestershire sauce, and diced tomatoes baked inside. I like golden mushroom sauce over the top and over the mashed potatoes.
Good stuff.

Looks good , wolfie. Meatloaf can be made in a very nice way , tasty and moist, adding the right things. Many here have mentioned great ways to do that. I like a good BBQ sauce instead of ketchup.

Last night, I told Diane we should have meatloaf soon. The bread crumbs absorb the cooked out fat, keeping the meat loaf moist. We never ate meatloaf growing up. I was in my late twenties, the first time I had meatloaf. I never had liver until then too. I think Diane's family ate meat loaf frequently. She makes good meatloaf.

I try to rotate my freezer stock. You can do what ever with the older stuff. If you run outta ideas for it soup or stew is good.

Never ketchup on meatloaf. Always tomato sauce. Seasoned bread crumbs and minced onions. I make 1 pound loafs and lay them out on waxed paper. Make it a rectangle of burger about 1/2” thick. Then add whatever ya want on it. Usually something like mushrooms, cheese, sometimes even vegetables. Use your imagination. Then roll it up and bake it.

Never order them anymore lol. Used to Every order till I started cooking and we never used them .... Dot. Really get it always see that recipes that say you need them and when I don't nothing happens..have one guy who doesn't understand how I can make burgers from scratch without them lol

You don't buy bread crumbs, just tear up a loaf of bread and mix it in really well. I think it's mainly to stretch the recipe. You could of made 3 loaves of meat loaf with the same amount of meat and had more left over for sandwiches.
