Those are morning doves, and I have eaten many hundreds of them. I love eating doves, but some find them "liverey". I have grilled them, baked them, made burritos, tacos, casserole, you name it. Where I live now, we have quite a few morning doves, (seasonally), but are in-undated with Eurasian Collared Doves, as well. They don't seem to migrate, and I plan on trying them soon. No limit, no closed season, and larger than morning doves.
Just doing what I want now.

I never ate them but I’d like to try. I could get some right outta my upstairs window in town if I had to. My mom could never stand the cooing noise they make, she found it ominous. Oh, they are delicious!

If I breast them out, I wrap them in bacon & grill. If I pluck them whole, I stuff them with stove top stuffing and wrap with bacon and lightly bake. Either way, I make a homemade tangy BBQ sauce :-) . . . can't wait until September 1st every year!!!! :-))))))))

Around here in the morning all you see is a pile of feathers near the bird feeder. Old Mr. Hawk just loves them too. As a kid pigeon hunting was fun, we did that after rabbit and pheasant hunting. Ate some every year......jk
