Nice job! I’m not much of a fisherman, so I don’t get to fish too often. I like to stick to hunting and trapping. During the summer I like to hike the trails on our property and watch the animals, it is very entertaining!

I tryd fly fishing but I don’t see the point as I can use a fly on a spinning rod. Now I will say, catching big crappie on a fly rod is entertaining

How do you use a fly on a spinning rod?

I've never caught a crappie on a fly rod, all I've caught are rainbow, brown, and brook trout.

Fly fishing is honestly about the only way that's fun to fish. I don't really care for fishing for bass, although i do 6-7 times a year. But trout fishing with a fly rod is the ultimate way to fish.

Tie a bobber about 2 feet up the line than a fly on the end. And a weight if you need it.

It's definitely super fun! To be honest I think I like catfishing better than trout fishing though. There's just something about the way that your rod tip starts bending slowly and then you set the hook and reel in a fighting 6 pound channel cat!

Ok, I'll give that a try this spring. Thanks!

I think my damsel fly might be too big for that small of a hook.

A close second to fly fishing is deep sea fishing. Closest I've ever got to a fish pulling me over a boat or off a bank was when I hooked two Red Vermillion on my rod. Deckhand had to help hold the rod. That was when I was 11 I think.

Those are some great flys!
I tie flies a lot but I’m not very good at it. I don’t really have any trout near me but we have a trip in October, so I might be able to do some fly fishing then.
This is a royal Wulff I tied:

Those are really good! That damsel fly looks like it's a good size for that hook IMO.

Those must've been big! I've never been deep sea fishing before, but it sounds fun!
