Honestly what will that cat be used for ? That cat will be incorporated into a group of several hundred (or more) similar cats and sold to a manufacturer. It will not be kept separate except for a few photos at the sale. The only thing about that cat that is special is that it has a nice belly, large size and was offered for sale by itself. I would venture to guess that there were at least a dozen (or more) very similar cats at the sale. That one happened to catch George’s eye and he threw a lot of money at it. Top cat prices at the western fur sales is a matter of ego and bragging rights. It is a very competitive process, starting with the Utah sale in early February. In a year, the top price continues to rise. Will be interesting to see if it increases at the Klamath sale in 2 weeks. Considering that George will most likely buy a couple thousand western cats during this buying season, the extra money he paid for that cat will not affect his overall price at all!!

At what point will that cat be incorporated into a group and sold ?
Highest price cat in a few years that I can recall and a darn nice one but you are correct there are a very few others probably very similar. As far as Klamath goes maybe peeler will see an increase.
