I assume the issue is flies in and around your cabin?

I get a lot in the fall especially that get in the house they sun themselves on the white door and then are in as soon as I open the door

my solution to greatly reduce it is these type of traps
https://www.amazon.com/Raid-Outdoor-Disposable-Food-Based-Attractant/dp/B07WGHGH8J/
I have used different brands they all seem to work about the same they all stink so you put them 50 or so feet from the area you frequent
I do a tree in my front yard and back yard about 50 feet from each door

at one point I did a kit that popped on a milk jug the only issue was the milk jugs had to sit on something rather than hang and high winds would tip them over

I have seen this scaled up to 5 and even 55gallon drum size that follow a beef herd around on a trailer , they work they kill thousands and thousands of flies

the 2 issues with these small ones , are they dry out or are just full to the top with fly carcasses so I have to change them out about a month to two months but that gets most of my fly season

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Same problem here until I used powdered hydrated lime.
Sprinkled it dry on the floor, and desolved some in water and sprayed on the walls and ceiling.
It dries up the moisture that flies need for there larve to live.

We used to get what they called buckwheat flies in the summer house that was closed up for winter, they'd lay in windrows on the floor, (the house wasn't heated in winter) and we'd sweep them up and toss in the snow...but the ones that were missed would come back to life when the heat hit them, do a little break dance on the floor and take off.
I don't know if they're the same flies, but they got in somehow to hibernate?
fly strips worked to get the survivors but they're a mess to deal with....you need to find out how they're getting in and do what you can to block that access...

if they are already in fly tape hanging near a light , a light you leave on at night

the ideal thing would be a 6 inch tube of fly tape that you put over a small light , they would flock to that and get stuck in a hurry , I see a couple traps that use this idea , I think it could be very good you would only need a small light in a dark room

my mudroom / enclosed back porch is small like 6x8 feet I will turn on the light on the ceiling in there , then turn off every other light in the house they will all find there way in there then I close myself in with a fly swatter and let the killing begin.

a 4 foot tube of fly tape that was easy to hang under a 4 foot shop light would also be handy gross when loaded up but handy

but being cheap I have a LED shop light over the washer and drier in the basement I just leave that light on with a few fly tapes the 4 pack is cheap , hung with a thumb tack to the floor joist around the light , light inside would be much faster but they eventually land on the tape flying around the light all night.

and then they are far enough away that I don't have to listen to the buzzing when they are in their struggle to try and get free

Lots of good info there.

My set-up is a fly strip hanging with a flashlight under it shining straight up , illuminating just the fly strip.. I use a roll of paper towels to hold the flashlight, put it in the core , facing up.
Turn out all the lights except the flashlight. Go to bed. All the flies will be on the fly strip in the morning.

I don't mean to highjack the thread but does anyone have similar advice for Asian Beetles? They were terrible this winter and now with warmer weather they're literally coming out of the woodwork in the house.

Bug bombs work pretty well for things like spiders and what not, not sure if they'll work on Asian beattles specifically. Might be a good start though. Also keeps out insects for a couple years which is nice.
