Does anyone know where I can purchase a 3 and 4” auger that are approximately 3 feet long that fit 1/2” chuck cordless drill? I tried most every trap supply dealer and they don’t have them in that length they only have them about 16-18” in length. A friend of mine allowed me to use his and you get more leverage on the longer ones and he got his from a tailgater at a trapping convention. Any help would be appreciated. Thank You!

If you don't find one, they sell extentions for drills so you could use the shorter auger and still have the added length.

The shorter auger is not squared off to fit in the chuck it is rounded off but it fits the chuck, would the extension work on that?

I have one but I can’t remember where I got it. I can post pics when I get home. Mine might be bigger that 1/2” tho cause it wouldn’t quite fit in the chuck of my Milwaukee cordless so I ground it down til it fit. It works great, save me a lot of time on dirt holes and bedding traps with a drag underneath them

Yes, I think so. They are attached to the bit with set screws. Here's an example....
drill bit extention I'm sure they sell them of various lengths.

Have a welding shop add on an extension.

there are a few people that make them and sell them on here. i had one special made longer a few years back. seems like it was rk who made it for me but i can't remember.

prior to that one the one i had before i added a 1/2'' rod to the end of the auger the length i wanted and slid a short piece of pipe over both the rod and the auger rod and welded the pipe to both. then on the end that goes in the chuck i ground it down to a hex shape so it wouldn't slip in the chuck. worked great until the auger itself wore down. still works great just makes a smaller hole than i like

Anyone that owns a gun and votes democrat deserves to have there gun taken, cause they truly are too stupid to own a gun.

There's this one.

Seems like they sell just to pest control though as I haven't got nowhere with them.

This is the one I have but it’s not as long and you’re needing. It’s 3” x 2’ with a 1/2” shaft. I bought it about 5 years ago but can’t remember where from

Shot them an email last year and they wouldn't even quote a price unless I filled out a credit application.

This one looks like it would work better than mine in hard or semi frozen ground.

That's why I was looking. I can't find an auger from a trapping supply that lasts much more than a year or two without being ground down to a blunt object. I need one with carbide edges.

Two points (no pun intended)

1. There is a phone number you could just call them and ask your questions.
2. All they did was cut off a carbide tipped cement drill bit and weld it into the auger. I doubt the screw blade is anything special. Anyone with a welder could make it for you pretty easily.
