I need some more advice on what to pay for a truck that I'm looking at.

1990 F-150 4X4 No rust at all, inside very good condition, electric windows. I don't know yet the engine size and has a few small oil drips. It has been sitting in a shed for about 8 years. Run great but has not been out on the road.

What would you pay for a truck like it? Thanks I really do appreciate your views and price ranges.

Year and engine are important.

Sitting 8 years? Gonna need brake work more than likely.

Tires are probably age cracked.

Think new gas in the tank and fuel filter if you buy it.

Take it to a good mechanic and have him look it over.

My daughter has been looking for a vehicle for a bit now. What you describe there is about what you see, at $5500 it's not a terrible price but not a great deal either. I guess figure out what it'll cost to get it on the road and go from there, see what he'll come down to, how long has he been trying to sell it ?

With today's prices that isn't horrible. Sitting for 8 years would have me thinking though. How many miles, one owner? In a building tires might be ok, being out of the sun. I would say worth digging into. 351 was a good motor.

Haven't decided on either of them. Just looking and seeing what is out there. Used prices are high if it is 4x4 here in this country. New are just too much money used and doing some fixings is what most are looking for. I would tackle some the oi leaking issues myself so not a huge deal.
