a trapper is correct. It is all the same animal, so technically they should all be listed as one species. ITA has some strange ways of listing items. Interesting that the browns averaged more than the whites.

Technically this is correct, but in actuality I believe weasels on this sale were what the trapper was calling them and was hollered to the lady filling out the paperwork and she was busy enough she didn't catch it and wrote down what she was told. I think most of those "weasels" were mine and there was a lot of four "graybacks" longtails, and the rest were white ermine, but I filled out my own paperwork and I wrote down "weasel" on all three lots.

You can blame most of that on me, 21 of those 25 were mine, and since I was there helping set up, I filled out my own paperwork. I had one lot of "graybacks" that varied from one cocoa colored one, one with a mostly gray back, and a couple with just a gray line from their hips down their tail; all longtails. They averaged a couple pennies more than my good white short tails, and about a dollar less than my white longtails.
