Has your portfolio done exceptionally well lately? Or maybe my reading skills aren't good.

I have not checked the boys accounts in a while so don't know. Guess I could open the statements sitting on the table all week. But the monthly deposits go into the accounts and I hope it's down so they are buying now at a better price. At 12 and 14 no reason to bother looking for several more years. Just keep buying monthly.

Hope those high fees are tax deductible... one of the highest fees in the business.

My Charles Schwab accounts have a feature that moves me in and out of stocks based on some model. I pay a fraction of a percentage point in fees for this added service. Helps me sleep better.

Had the Edward Jones Guided Solutions. My investments did FAR better than theirs. Took them all out and went elsewhere.

If your local bank has a Trust department you might want to talk with them. Many times the managerial fees are WAY lower than most investment offices.

I took all my money out of Edward Jones and put it in Charles Schwab. Schwab only charges a fraction of what I was charged and you can call them and get answers instead of the runaround. Been happy with Schwab and they move things around by trends like above said

I have had Eddy Jones for many years. They have made me a good nest egg over the years. My broker is a friend and client. Always there in the rare case I need him. Wells Fargo does a good job for us also so far. Not sure how bad the hit will be for the market fluctuating as it is now. I guess we will see on our next statement. It will come roaring back like it always does.

I found out about eddie jones in 2019. Before the fall and surge of today. They had to reschedule my first appointment because the agents were in Hawaii on a company retreat.
First red flag
Then unless your initial invest was 250,000 they charged 1.25 % right off the top.
THEN every quarter they charged maintenance fee.
PLUS any moving of funds incurred a fee.
BUT the cherry on top was when or if you did really good they got a commission. Lady looked at me so funny when I ask her if they paid me if it fell in value. LOL At the time with the current rate of return it was going to be 3.5 years to regain my initial fees. Went with Principal and Fisher Investments. Sit down and look at what you have paid EDDIE JONES. Then compare. You might not like them so well after you do.........

EJ has the highest fees and most expensive Fiduciary Investment Company to do business with. Do yourself a favor and check out vanguard or fidelity and their services. If you want to pay fees there are other companies cheaper then EJ. A lot cheaper!

Edward Jones fess are excessive and I found their agents to be less than knowledgable. They are like Subway, a office on every corner.

I pay close attention to the fees that are accrued. Last years EJ's was .3%. It doesn't get much lower than that

Here just a small sample of the cost Comparisions. EJ has maintenance costs and costs called other costs. Lots of articles and information on their cost and some call them hidden costs.
https://www.brokerage-review.com/be...ameritrade-etrade-fidelity-vanguard.aspx

Can research EJ cost but they have an average cost of 1.35% in total for yearly costs in variety, which add up to a total cost to have them hold your investments.

1.35% to 1.50%
The average cost per year to invest with Edward Jones typically ranges from 1.35% to 1.50% of the account balance. This fee covers investment advice, account management, and other services2. Additionally, there may be other fees associated with specific investment types, such as mutual funds or ETFs4.

Most of mine is now in Fedility. I like how easy every thing is . I only have the kids accounts still with Edward Jones and have has small benefits when talking with the adviser that has saved me money and giving me info I didn't know before. Like I got a $1,500 State tax credit just for opening a 529 and putting in $7500 to get the max 20% credit. I was paying for her school anyway do it was as simple as opening the account deposit the money them take it out when it was time to pay for school. He also let me know I could open a Roth for my wife even though she has no earned income so now she has a Roth I can max out for her each year.

I have had my aggravation with them over the years and they do have a few different options on the fee structure. from a % of your portfolio or per trade or front loaded funds. Likely others. I don't do much just monthly deposit into front loaded growth funds. last time I looked a few months ago they were up over in the low 20% over the last 3 years. Good enough for me and I started there on family recommendations and family history with this advisor. I have been considering just moving things to Fedility but now and then I do get beneficial info like listed above.

I went to Edward Jones several years ago, with the intention of opening an account. Every question I asked the guy, had to be looked up on his computer. They didn’t get any of my money.
