Dirty D trapper D Joined: Nov 2014 east central WI	drywall hammer, my Dad was a drywall contractor from the '60's to the 90's, grew up around that stuff. I have spent many a hour putting the stuff up, taping, finishing, cleaning up after rocking and helping my Dad spray the finished jobs. Personally I'll be glad if I never have to touch a piece of sheetrock the rest of my life. Drywall made it on the scene in the '40's and '50's.

Mitch L trapper M Joined: Aug 2013 Iowa	Drywall hammer. Roofing hatchets have a heavier head and a longer, thinner blade. And usually a "height" gauge on it. The blade on this hammer is used for leverage to lift the bottom sheet off the floor.

These types of drywall hammers may have been used by roofers but they are specifically designed for installation of the old style gypsum board of the 40's and 50's. Eh...wot?
