I remember the first time I saw a CBP boat,,,, I was wondering who let the Canadian in,,,,little did I realize that they were part of homeland security……. Long story short,,they let me go after seizing my boat and a long ride to Bellingham in handcuffs….

Long story short,,they let me go after seizing my boat and a long ride to Bellingham in handcuffs…. What was the reason? Got lost in and crossed into Canadian water early in the morning. Turned around and air craft spotted a boat low in the water Coming out of Canadian waters. The guy that worked for me had meth. I had guns.. The took the boat to town to search it. They let me boat go. Charged the other guy with possession of drugs and guns. Even though the guns were mine. Automatic 10 years in prison. He ratted out his dealer a got out in a plea deal

The ICE Agents were very nice to me during the investigation.
I rode back on a fast craft coast guard boat and the captain saw how much pain I was in,handcuffed behind the back, at the of the boat, doing 60, that he stopped the boat and added a pair of cuffs to give be more freedom. Shout out to the Coasties…..it was a hour ride

I'm assuming you didn't know your employee was a meth head? I began to wonder one job before,,,…. Started out great…. Worked for me for 2 years doing wildlife stuff. Used him on and off from 1995 till 2003 for sub contracts on housing projects.

Had to be pretty rude awakening the way that went down! When the approacehed me on the dock, they asked me if I had any weapons ,,,,,,, me Got my pants on don’t I,,,,,,,,,,, boom down in handcuffs….. Legal conceal permit,,,,,, They thought we were drug smugglers,,,, Funny thing is when they let me go and release the boat. I asked them it there was any water in the sponsons,,, ( floatation area in the catamaran boat),,,,,, them said No,,,,,,, I knew that was impossible because of leak,,,,,,, meaning,,,,,, they could have missed if I was

I remember the first time I saw a CBP boat,,,, I was wondering who let the Canadian in,,,,little did I realize that they were part of homeland security……. Long story short,,they let me go after seizing my boat and a long ride to Bellingham in handcuffs…. Ha, ha, I can beat that one; but unlike you, I didn't get caught. Back in the early 80's when I was gillnetting in Washington I set out my gill net, 300 fathoms long (1800 feet) at about 11 PM. I was west and a little north of Lummi Island. It was a nice calm night, so I thought I'd take a little nap. The next thing I know the sun was beating down into the wheelhouse, I jump up in a panic, flew out the door and out onto the back deck of the boat to get my bearings. The first thing I noticed was all the sport fishing boats around me, it was then that I realized that I was about a mile off Saturna Island, I was more than three miles into Canadian waters. I started reeling the net up onto the drum like a mad man; fish and all, lucky for me there wasn't a whole lot of fish. At full throttle I made a beeline back to US waters. I don't know if I've ever felt such a sense of relief as when I was safely back across the line. Wow, I just noticed that my next post will be my 10,000th.
