We’ve all seen those cheap tractor supply cage traps with the flimsy doors,,
Has anyone ever devised a way to strengthen those doors??

I had a customer that had bought one of them, caught a big raccoon in it. Thought she had caught her cat as the cage was covered with a blanket. She brought it into her bedroom and realized it wasn’t fluffy! Called me, the coon had pulled the blanket in all around the door. I guess beefing up the door that was already broken. She was pretty lucky, the raccoon not so much.

I guess you could JB weld some steel rods on the door or otherwise attach some or replace the door altogether.

Don’t buy one. It’s not just the door that’s an issue. Whole thing is too light and cheap.
I’ve had coon destroy those and literally eat their way through the light gauge wire out the back.
Here is a tractor supply “coon” trap and what a coon can do to it.
Door is bent, rod assembly broken, light gauge foot pan bent to (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman), and the coon chewed its way through a hole right out the back.
Get a good cage and don’t waste money on the cheap ones.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

Those ought to come with a warning label........"NOT SUITABLE FOR RACCOON".

Would save a lot of trouble.

Cheap cages hold the coons you don’t want the big ones destroy them quickly. I made my own cages out of 12.5 gauge lobster wire they never broke a wire on that stuff.
