I will only ever put one up here if the ding dongs in charge change the season to when they are at least close to prime.. we would have to spray paint the leather side with two coats of primer and three coats of paint to be that white. Our limited tag(20 which is a joke btw) season opens right away in November when they are still nearly black skinned and have little to no underfur sadly. Accidentally caught one’s fill the quota typically in a few days along with the guys who target them just to say they got one. I’m hoping the gf&p changes the season date soon to target them when they are worth something (little nowadays) and at least a nice prime example of what they can be such as BP’s. I associate the season now with opening a trophy deer season in early July for a week only…

Goldberg used to pay us a premium for early caught otters with dark leather. He called all the late caught white leather otters "singed".

Again, thanks for the kind words of many of you. I kind of like putting up otters.

You'll seldom see a white leather Idaho otter. We have a quota on otter and it is usually full before they are truly white prime. The buyers don't seem to mind blue otter though like they do other furs, they'll likely knock a couple bucks off, but nothing like they do on other critters.
