Today is snow-covered and on the chilly side, so it's a great "soup" day. For brunch I polished off the last of a big pot of turkey noodle soup I'd made several days ago. I canned up several quarts of turkey soup stock from a batch of fall birds I shot in October of '22. Makes great soup too! Well, during the last couple spoons full from the bowl I bit down on a regular old .177 caliber pellet gun pellet!......we aren't allowed to shoot turkeys here, spring or fall, with any firearm except a shotgun. That hurt my mouth too. Dadgum outlaws, lol

probably somebody using the only gun they had to try and get the turkey to stop digging up their garden.

can't think a 177 pellet gun would be the most effective poaching tool on a turkey

body shot with a 177 would probably be half way decent harassment but lands a pellet 3/4 inch deep all the same not enough to kill , just enough to wound

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Don’t think I’ve killed a turkey in the last several years that didn’t have some #4’s or 2’s in the breast. There’s only 3 of us that hunt the place and none of us shoot anything larger than 9’s, lol.
