Been dealing with it for 40 years. Blood pressure drops to 90 over 60. Pulse from 150 to 185. I get very lightheaded. Usually happened the day after getting drunk or dehydrated. Drinking very cold whole milk or eating icecream. 2 years ago it started happening when my chest got cold. Been cardioverted 30 plus times. 50 cc's of propophal and 200 jewels. Not supposed to get converted until it's been 6 hours since you've eaten. I've had 2 ablation surgeries. 1st one made it worse. 2nd seems to have worked. It's only been 6 weeks so time will tell. I've been on blood thiners since the 1st ablation. Hopefully I can stop taking them soon. Tired of bruising easily.

If you go into afib you need to get to the er. While you are in afib you are at risk for strokes.

People are loving the book coonchaser, he's been on several radio programs, featured in several newspapers, and had a book signing at the local library the other day.

The amount of people that showed up blew me away, the librarian said the biggest turnout ever for that kind of event.

I'm happy the ablation worked well for him, it gave him a new lease on life really.

Diagnosed in 2015. Ablation in 2017. So far fo good. Doc says increased risk of stroke for rest of my life! No more whiskey!!
Friend has it. 2 ablation, 3 shocks. Still not right! Takes Eliquis.

The wife is a paramedic, so I know she zaps people for such issues pretty regularly

Know at least a dozen now in my age 65 group you have had it and thankfully all have been gotten back to good heart beat health some where along the treatment progression starting with medication, shock inversion, ablation to pace maker. Ablation is working for me but each still includes ongoing meds. My cousin is cardiac ablation specialist and has been doing them for 30+ yrs equally pre and post covid. More cases may be being diagnosed post covid because covid awareness many individuals into contact with doctors and health care that won’t have otherwise. I hope things work out for you as well odds are in your favor. Not many things are as worrisome as heart health issues. By

I had a good case of it in my late 20's brought me to the floor...... doctors all said stress related. Fast forward some 30 years later and it hit me a few times but all tolerable. Then it hit me real hard again -- you could literally see my shirt move and see my chest hammering -- 8 hours in the ER , some meds didn't help. Then they brought in the emergency cart and were getting ready to shock me and it stopped before they got the paddles out.
Then four years ago, it brought me to the floor and hurt like crazy...... went to the ER and I was thumping at 220, They hit me with some drugs through an IV. Again they were getting ready to shock me ....while waiting for an anesthesiologists, they hit me with more drugs --- felt like the end of a roller coaster ride. Felt like I was going forward but was held back somehow. Later, when I described that to my cardiologist he figured they stopped my heart for a second using the drugs they did.

Anyway to make a long story done....did Metoprolol and Flecainide for a bit -- then did an ablation and I have been good since. Only on a blood thinner now. The worst part was tired for a few days and itchiness from the hair growing back on my chest

I used to have dizzy spells whenever I drank coffee. Or, I had trouble sleeping because my heart would be racing. That only happened when I drank coffee which I loved. I stopped drinking coffee and everything is fine; no more symptoms or episodes. But, when I have my yearly physical they always ask if I'm still on blood thinners because I have irregular heartbeat, which is what Afib is.

I was on Warfarin, but I like to eat lots of green veggies like broccoli, asparagus, brussel sprouts, spinach, etc. One time I would go in have my blood checked and it would be too thin. So, I'd cut down on the veggies and the next time I'd go in and my blood would be too thick. I was going in weekly for blood checks. I found out that Eliquis wasn't affected by Vitamin K as a blood thinner. Medicare won't cover Eliquis, only cover Warfarin due to the cost. I checked the cost of Eliquis if I bought it. It was a little over $700 for a 90 day supply. I checked with the VA and found I could get it through them for $33 for a 90 day supply. I switched to Eliquis through them and it has worked out real well.

A neighbor had it a lot and shocked to get it back, then they found a leaking valve and an enlarged chamber had open heart surgery back in October and feels the best he has in the last 5 years.

Had an ablation in both upper chambers. Been shocked. Had a cardio MRI which is done through the esphagus (SP). Take two Elliquis daily.

My ticker is now fine. If I avoid alcohol, my BP is fine. My weight, not so good. Age 78. Been using a CPAP for 20 years.

I'm new to afib, since mine was discovered in mid February. Doc put me on 5mg eliquis (twice a day) and 25mg metoprolol (daily). Schedule for a echo on 4/7 and see the cardiologist on 4/9. I'm 64 and have been on BP and cholesterol meds since 2020. Certainly wasn't what I expected when I went to the doctor in February. Very interesting thread from all of you that have experienced this...

Just got the results from 48 hours with the Holter Monitor, no AFIB during that period.

Had my post-op visit with the cardiologist and all good, don't half to see him again unless there's a problem.

Holter Monitor results were interesting, max rate 127 BPM. I've been walking about a mile a day and that's when I hit that peak rate.

Minimum BPM was 53 at 3:04 AM. I didn't realize it got that low while sleeping.

It must be normal, cardiologist wasn't concerned.

Eh...wot?

" No a-fib during that period"

INTERESTING..... I purchased an Apple Watch after Mark June had a thread on just this subject. My doctor refused to even look at it let alone the information gained on it. Insisted on a monitor. I refused to wear the monitor since I have a pace maker and it shows a-fib. My Apple Watch shows that I am in A-Fib at various times and far enough apart that the monitor may not show my episodes with A-Fib.

First thing I asked my NEW doctor when getting a new pacer was his thoughts on an Apple Watch. He was not opposed to it but my old pacer showed I wasn't in A-Fib much if at all.

I am not recommending that dissing a doctor because of his feelings on Apple Watches. Do not take my opinion as a recommendation.

Along with monitoring my heart I use it for my sleep since I use a C-Pap and about to not need it any more.

A while after getting an mRNA vaccine, my mom went into AFib (along with chronic fatigue). The same thing happened to my brother, my aunt, and numerous other people we all know. In recent research they were shocked to find leftover spike proteins still existent in the cells of mRNA vaccine recipients after two years. I believe those were supposed to be gone shortly after the shots. They are now curious about the long lasting effects that could cause.

We will soon hear much more about long term issues from the newer vaccines. The pharmaceutical companies seem to be running lower on power along with credibility.

Afib is caused by irregular or duplicate electrical signal to the heart beat causing irregular heartbeat rhythm. Like electricity can leak between terminals of a dirty battery. How this could ever be caused vaccine proteins left in your blood stream is implausible to any cardiologist I know. Or how ablation of secondary signal pathways or a pacemaker can rectify it.
