Glad it's working out. when your done playing around, grin, remember to put knee pads on if you need to kneel down....it's not that kneeling is very painful but it's very uncomfortable...

A friend of mine had a knee replaced around the same time as mine, he's had a lot of problems, still can't get that knee to bend enough to make a full round on the exercise bike. He had a different surgeon, one of those in and out the same day guys, not good.

I was told if you don't get full range of motion by 6 months, you'll never get it... a lot of nursing home seniors never get past 90 degrees, which is considered minimum for effectively walking....

I wouldn't give up on the cane too soon. You don't need it for support. You need it for maintaining your sense of balance until your muscles and nerves are healed back 100%.
If you are too proud to be seen using a cane, get you a snazzy walking stick. I use my lucky beaver stick just a little shorter than I am tall. Make sure that the beaver stick is beaver-chewed on both ends, or all of the luck will run out of it.
I do not really need a walking stick, but they come in handy to keep the woman folk off of my all the time.
