Lack of discipline is the number one problem. When a kid tips the desk over and cusses the teacher he gets sent to a play room to calm down. That's like petting a pup for treeing a possum when you want it to be a competition coon dog. Dogs and kids should not be allowed to make the rules. The whole play room thing rather than a paddle for disrupting the class came from D.O.E. psycho babblers.

There have always been uninvolved parents and feral children. Those unlucky kids with bad parents were taught in kindergarten what was unacceptable behavior.

Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

I recall both our Junior High and Highschool having an Enforcer. Usually disguised as a Wrestling or assistant Football Coach. You were lucky if you got sent to the office ! That was more desirable but much less effective.

Most didn’t test the rules a second time !

Can anybody explain why the federal government through the department of education and other agencies is giving $400 million a year to Columbia University and tax dollars amounting to billions of dollars to other private, non-government universities?

Eh...wot?

It doesn’t seem to me like something or federal government should be involved in at all.

Eh...wot?

There comes a point liberalism has gone too far, we're past that point.

Probably research grants. Much of scientific research is done at Universities. We live in a mixed economy.
