There is no quick cure. My Dr. told me, and I quote, "don't do stupid stuff". I reckon, he was right.

When I was young and had kids to feed I took a job hauling meat. If I unloaded myself I got another 75 bucks. lot of money early eighties. Ground beef was in 90 pound boxes. Not much you would think for a young man. I felt mine go and toughed it out finishing unloading. Called and told them I pulled a muscle or something. Took a few days off and went back to driving. Then started unloading again. Went out so bad a few years later I had a surgery. Bulging disc ruptured. Surgery didnt help much. About 10-11 years later had another. Lots better now
Doc told me after that first injury I had bulged a disc. Should not have done any lifting for months. What you described with the twisting sounds like what I was doing. Dont play with it. Dont keep lifting. See a Dr not a chiropractor. It will heal if it just started but not very fast.

If you can still joke about it, you don't have back pain. Carry on. But, seriously, once you've ruined your back, it's over. Your life will be changed forever. Things you never thought twice about doing will have you begging your wife to help you.

Things you never thought twice about doing will have you begging your wife to help you. Spot on. I apparently ruined my back decades ago but it didn't show up until a few years ago. Now, at 70, it has changed my life and not in a way I like at all, but I'm still above ground sucking air.

You’ll know how bad it is tomorrow morning if you can’t put your socks on. I forget what I had a year ago but it wasn’t muscle. Lower back around to the hip joint on one side. Was told to lay off the electro and avoid stretching the crap out of it until it healed, then I could start stretching and Dr Hoes if I wanted. I always stretched after back injuries thinking it’d help but this last doc told me that by stretching a nerve/tendon strain, I was taking 2 steps forward at night while resting and one step back while stretching in the morning. Best thing I ever did, let er heal for a bit before any physio. A good chiro is golden if you have one in you’re area, some are a joke.
