Haven't been on American Trap Talk for awhile so i decided to log in. It was dead as a doornail. Wolfernation has been gone for several years now. Kind of sad to see them fading away. I guess with Facebook, TikTok, etc. and a decade of a bad fur market it was bound to happen.

Several things ended ATT. When prices dropped people moved on, the photo shop company held the photos hostage back then that ruined the majority of the photos that went with the posts. The original owner passed it on to another guy that was already busy but mostly it was the core groups moved on.

A certain . member liked to run off people there didn't help.

Ya! LMAO! The mink forum did it to me some years ago and a couple of people here tried it on me a couple years ago.

Lawdog, it’s been quite a few years ago that I was a member of American Trap Talk and I vaguely remember getting sidewise with some members concerning bottom edge sets and mink. About that same time I’d joined the mink forum and had the very same thing happen concerning the same subject. Both instances the folks got personal about experience & ability vs fact & documentation. I figured they were actually the same people on both boards so I left. LOL I got a year off here for my reaction to a similar personal attack but concerned coyotes.

We are a tough bunch in group settings it seems trappers are basically solitary people and we like it that way so we don’t mix well with others in group settings. So you didn’t get pitched you just did not like how it went down was I on there then I don’t recall the issue?

My goal was to keep the kids and new trappers from being bullied we had a few adults that were hard on the new kids and that were intimidated with being young or inexperienced. At that time we had a great group of members with some jerks that needed to be weeded out. There was a couple guy that should have been gone long before they did go if I drove them off sticking up for others I’ll own that.

Sorry you had those issues but overall I found it a better place than most other forums. I do see you had trouble at 3 forums you might reflect on that some but I don’t know the circumstances just saying.

Yup, freely admit it as I just did. I worked in the skilled trades my entire life with tough people and I’ve never allowed someone to get derogatorily personal with me in real life and I won’t tolerate that behavior on a forum without defending myself. It’s that defending myself that gets me in trouble on forums and I understand that because of my personality, I’m taken advantage of at times and forced into a reaction. Tough to (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman)-slap someone in writing! LOL

Nothing wrong with standing up for yourself I admire that in a person not judging just been down a long road myself.

Some people get real hurt over something that someone else typed. These people are very vulnerable on social media in this day and age and it must be frustrating for them. The kids get a real good laugh when they get someone going, don’t let ‘em under your delicate skin ya sissy…lol.
Face to face, you think things would be said the same way? Trappers coming to blows over a friggin mink set…lol…probably not. It’d be a discussion. Talking, you can hear the tone, typing you can’t and things escalate. The same sentence can be taken very differently, that’s why sometimes we have to tell people that the comment was sarcastic.
