I haven’t seen a decline in insects and the spray plane flies right over the house, as for birds there’s a good possibility the bird flu has killed them. I don't think insects as a whole are in decline atleast not here, just certain insects like dragon flies are missing from the land scape

if you are in a city or sub division where a lot of people are having their lawns sprayed for fertilizer and such they almost all include an insecticide now
so any where with nice lawns , will likely have very few insects as they are spraying block after block of the city , village or sub-division with insecticide every few weeks
it is like going to a Disney property used to be they sort of started wide spread use of it , happy place they want it to be , they are nearly in a swamp but hardly a mosquito
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

The way I see it is that these small insect die first because the accumulation of the heavy metals is a high concentration in relation to their body weight. Now we are seeing tons of birds die, little heavier takes longer, very ominous for our collective future as a whole in America.
And what’s with that comment Bruce T, are you insinuating something’s wrong with southern Maine? Everyone likes the idea of the great woods north but in reality it’s mostly private owned lumber companies (pretty sure Irvine is biggest landowner) that clear cut huge swathes every year. the state also sprays 10000s upon 10000s of gallons of round up from planes, so that’s always nice . Plus Houlton and north is nasty big ag country with contaminated soil from all the chemicals they use to grow their mono crops.. but go on with your condescending tone. LOl..........Very little clear cutting anymore.Mostly selective harvesting now making for very hard moose hunting as the moose don't have to move around anymore. All kinds of food and cover.Stand up feed and bed back down again. The spraying is done on regrowth on some of the old cutovers to kill off the hardwood and its not round up.My reply about southern Maine was it must be southern Maine as northern Maine still has all kinds of bugs.As for birds there was a study done that shows Maines birds are holding steady and increasing in alot of areas.

I became aware of chemtrail nuts last year, and some wonder why Trump is getting rid of the DOE.

Most all “good”species seem to be in decline, some far worse then others. Both birds and bugs, which is really an ominous sign for what’s to come. I don’t believe it’s caused by any one thing but multiple problems from sprays to habitat. Thing is most of these critters are the bottom of the food chain, eventually it will filter up to the top.
I think this is exactly right. Multiple factors are causing declines, I would estimate locally the Red Winged Black Birds and Barn Swallow populations are 5% of what they were 20 years ago, Same swamps, same barns, same basic habitat, something is dramatically wrong.

Not that way up here in northern Maine.Just as many if not more redwinged black birds and swallows around here once winter is over.More and more eagles and hawks as well.Alot of ducks and geese.Seeing all the usual songbirds.

Bob Iowa they lost certainly spray glysophate all over northern maine, which is the active ingredient in round up It is not all over northern Maine.Only on a few selective cutovers to get rid of the hardwood where they plant softwood. Most areas they have gone to selective cutting instead.

Dragon flies here get very thick myself and my hay haulers were in a swarm last summer, as far as round up or any glyphosate there's no aerial application label so it can't be applied by air. It does have an aerial label. But I’ll believe in man made climate change or flat earth before I believe that contrails are Chemtrails
