Not happening!
Went out to Hi To bar and pay lake just to get some chicken wings and beer. The new litter is around 5 weeks old and one puppy looks just like the father, Jake!
Not ready…not happening…

Here is Jake

He’s so itchy always and his ears are infected. It’s hard seeing pets who need help and the owners are pretty old school. Only believe in puppy vaccines and that’s pretty much it. I’ve taken expired flea prevention out there a couple times

Lots of people are "old school" cause vets often want 100 bucks for rabies vaccine they pay about 3 for. Those animal hospitals in cities are flat gouging people. Its not hard to see why the NVA lobbied to make rabies, flea tick heartworm preventive, and antibiotics unavailable to the public.

Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

Vaccine clinics are available for those who need assistance. You don’t need to pay for a vet exam to stay legal. There are plenty of reliable over the counter topical preventions that are safe and work well if owner compliance is assured.

Veterinary med has a huge overhead and even a small clinic does not make much money. Especially when you consider the cost of paying a hard working staff and having diagnostics and all medication at the ready.
These days, if you’re going to take care of your pet the right way, expect to pay.
I never believed in having pet insurance but I push it on all my clients when they come in for new puppy or kitten exams.
People want the best and they want it right now.
No one is happy with a shot of penicillin. They want answers and cures.
For their (ughhhhh) fur babies

God I hate that term

"paying a hard working staff"

The paying part is a joke...you guys get paid crap for what you all have to go through. Vets are a cheap bunch, even here where the prices are crazy high. My daughter worked for years for vets and couldn't make even a low living wage.

Don't get me started on Vets.....

Everyone needs at least one dog.

Think vets charge a lot Danny I know I did with my last vet bill tell I started thinking about it. They have as much school as a doctor, treat several species that can't communicate and tell them what's wrong to help with diagnostics and don't send them off to a specialist fir each different issue.

Yes sound high when your are paying te bill but when compared to a doctor it starts looking extremely cheap. I mean I have had a single test cost 15k for me, have to repeat it and add more to it then go to a specialists on top of that. Easily over 100k for the year luckily only 1500 out of my pocket due to health insurance. And that's with me being able to talk to the doctor and tell them what's wrong.

And the techs don't get paid like nurses thoughI think they deserve it. Well maybe a little less just because I would prefer working with animals over people much more pleasant to be around and no or less educational expence requirements to get started.

Love it!

I wanted to get a dog BEFORE we lost Jez, to make the transition easier.
Afterwards it didn’t feel right.
Still doesn’t…
