Going to use these cattle panels and chicken wire outside of them for a couple live traps. I then will make a trip pan and might use this old stove rake for the drop door. I will weight it at top and frame the channel for door to operate vertical in.

Just a project on bad weather days and will how it works. You have any ideas to go along with the panels structure I will use.

Also took a short walk after getting ready to plant some alfalfa in the next 2 too 3 weeks.

whats your target for your traps? Chicken wire seems thin enough it can be chewed through. May not matter and I may be wrong just my first thought.

Well rabbits and squirrel. More of just a DIY project I have to be building something or doing something all the time, so will engineer the thing and give it a swirl.

I had some old panel I use laying around, so I used what I had.

I might catch more pheasants and turkeys than anything else, but I hope I don't. Lol

I use horse panel (2x4) spacing on some bigger live traps. Attach 1"x1" wire around the back and pan. Works well but heavy

12.5 Lobster wire from the East coast thick as a hog ring nothing gets out of these cages.

Wire brake made with 7 and 8 foot 2X4s if you're making several but not 100s. Carriage bolts impacted with the wire between the 2x4s

really nice law dog. I'm building more and re doing a 14 year old rabbit hutch for the 3rd time and was looking for stainless wire si I don't gave to replace wire again. Is that studd 1x1. fir the floors I don't want any wider than 1/2"x1' that stuff may be perfect.

1X2 12.5 gauge wire with a zinc coating. It’s tough to find real cage wire now most American name wires are just imported junk that have poor welds. This wire has gone up so much over the years the suppliers stopped carrying it. The local Hoot colony was building cages and they can’t make a deal on a truckload of wire after a new manager took over.

The price of wire has gone through the roof, I get the pvc coated wire for conch and crab pots and build my own, have a wire brake to bend it, and the pneumatic hog ringers ,but the cost is getting prohibitive. The Italian wire isn't bad and a little cheaper, Used to be able to get factory seconds from the factory in Mass, but not any more since the old owner died and his kids took over. The wire was good, maybe a little uneven with the pvc, or a missed mesh here and there but the price difference made it worthwhile to work around...You do NOT want the Chinese crap.

I use 2"x2" 10-gauge, 2"x2" 6 gauge for the doors. Factory that makes it is about 8o miles from me in Dupont WA.
