Only once a year?

The neighbors cows get out monthly. And we chase em on quads and utv's.

That look on your face sums it up pretty well.

Yeaaahhh well really 2x a year it seems spring and fall. So much of this place is grown up fence line and yeahhh... They just see to start on a fence and walk till they start busing brush find a old part and knock though. I'm just to the point I'm kinda whatever. Cows get out , locate them , try to walk them back with a bucket of feed...never happens, cuss a bunch , call in some cowboy and dogs drive them back , get rid of the trouble makers and repeat. Would have sold em all and used the money to get some good fence's built but tired

Place down the road winters about 50 to 75 cow calf pairs on 20 to 30 acres. Guy feeds them hay everyday, but now that grass is greening up, they are after the grass. Pasture is grazed down tight like a golf green. Drove by 2 days ago and half of them were lined up at the fence along the road, nipping at green grass on the other side. Some were going low, some had head thru the fence. One cow had her head and one leg thru. Fence is leaning about 45 degrees from being pushed on. Looked to me like it was only a matter of time before fence was laid flat and they would be free to roam about. In this guy's case, moral to the story is feed them more and better hay.....or spread them out on more acres. Grass being greener on other side of the fence.

Easy to vote your way into socialism, but impossible to vote your way out of it.

The rifle has no will of its own it may be used for evil but there are more good men than evil men and evil will be corrected by good men with rifles.

Many rural areas of western states are open range - the highways are not fenced. And it's not uncommon to have to stop for cattle on the highways. Sometimes in the winter, herds will bed down on the bare blacktop on lightly traveled highways at night. Pretty dangerous. And all the frozen cowpies make frustrating speedbumps with bigger herds.

United we stand.

Outfitter I hunted with in WY would drive livestock to MT for winter pasture. I believe he said it was a 3-day job with 5 or 6 cowboys.
