My hay guy called me out of the blue leting me know he has cows ready to take to the butcher on the 8th. been months since I spoke with him.

Looks like his prices are crazy cheap $1.80 lb live weight. He said roughly 1000lb cows and guest of 2400$ total Costs for around 3.65 a lb and would be ready before May.

Now I don't know if I will have enough freezer space by then but think will. Yet I don't honestly know how big a freezer I Need for 1000lb beef.

I can always buy a new freezer if i need more space. I'm wanting to replace one and can use another one for butcher day on chickens anyway.

Seemed like a great price and perfect timing. Everyone else was going to be a while before they had anything ready and sould be about out of deer them if not a little before.

I can get around 300lbs of processed, boneless meat in a 7 cu ft freezer. it's stuffed, but will fit.
