I remember some people on here asking about me going to college before I got grounded so I thought I would explain.
yes I'm 15 yes I'm in 9th grade and yes I'm in college its called PSEO Post Secondary Enrollment Options
because I'm smart I'm able to get college paid for while in high school grades. currently I am part time and still attend the actual school to do my extra classes like welding and wood shop gym...
next year starting halfway through 10th grade I will be going to college full time online I will be taking all my college generals because as long as I do them in high school they are paid for by the state. because all my generals will be done by the time I graduate when I go to actual college in person at umd (Duluth) I will only have to take my classes specifically for mechanical engineering my Major. and that will save me time and money.
so I can focus on finding a wife and doing fun stuff like party's and my hobbies.

spend your college time on clubs like SAE , there are some great build clubs that design everything from off road racers to snowmobiles. and they allow you to used the schools tools like welders
my brother was in a tractor building pulling club
lots you can learn and make sure to be building your resume with those activities as you go so it is ready when you are looking for internships and jobs.
Mech Eng is basically a 6 year program now so you can probably cut a year or two off with your early start. internships are huge do a few. work hard for them and it is very likely they will want you back for a job after graduation.
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Good for you. Any idea what you want to do with the degree?
Green County Pete gave some good advise. Don't waste your time "having fun". Get as much as you can out your time there, in the end your trying to make yourself stand out from the rest of the pack to be the guy that everyone wants to hire.
yes I'm gonna go do an internship with my uncle at federal ammunition in anoka and then hope they hire me

There's always some exceptions, lol My son is also a bearded 6' mech and systems engineer, that used to hunt and fish with me...He's now in Texas and is working for a major defense company making big bucks...but he's an engineer, most of those guys are "different" than the rest of us..I'm sure your son would agree...

It's a Good Plan Preston,
If You go to College in Superior, Wisconsin. The Credits (double) Yo can Double Major in 4 to 5 years.
My Son got His Accounting & MIS/ BIS Computer Programming main frame in 5 years. Congratulations to your son that's an accomplishment I bet he was not partying and chasing girls much at the time and stayed goal driven and now has not only a good career and money but his pick of girls.

WOW how times have changed. It is great that you can do that. A lot of us had to work all through college and that took time away from school. You will do fine and have a good time doing it.....jk
