Sat up for 15 years or more, recently pulled it out from under shelter. I replaced battery, drained fuel tank , changed the engine oil, rear end oil, plug. It runs like a top but the carb is leaking gas. My question is where to find a good replacement? I see several on e bay and amazon but also have heard to stay away from chineseum replacements. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

I know several people who have put the Chinese carbs in fourwheelers of various brands because it is cheaper to buy a new carb than to have yours rebuilt, or often times even to buy the carb kit. They've all had good luck with them, I've done it with power saw carbs for small power saws and had good luck.

Good chance the only new carb you will be able to find for that old machine will be a Chinese one also.

I out a 32 dollar Amazon carb on my 98 Kodiak. Once it’s idled for a minute or 2 it runs great.

Joco, If you do you tube check out a channel called Chickanik 2 weeks ago episode"I can't believe what this did to my engine". She shows what she uses to help with carbs that have sat awhile to rejuvinate the seals in a carb.

In my opinion Chinese motorcycle carbs suck, if it runs good but leaks it might just the needle and seat or the float. That’s assuming it’s leaking out the overflow, otherwise it could be the drain screw ifin it has one. A good cleaning and inspection if it’s not those things.

This is after market stuff but made in Japan so maybe ok. But might just need a good cleaning. I had a 83 Honda185s 3 wheeler I bought new and cleaned the carb a few times and only parts I ever bought was a needle jet and seat. Brother has it now and it’s still going strong.

Clean the carb, buy a factory float needle if you can. What jets are in the chinese carbs? Thats an old classic, dont put chinese stuff on it. Sounds like the float needle is leaking of float set wrong. Easy fix.
