Anybody use one? Good? Bad? Tips? Will they work in extreme cold?

Looking to heat a small generator shed.

Give an illegal alien a fish and he eats for a day. Deport him and you never have to feed him ever again!

They look interesting, the guy that inspects our vehicles has a customer that got one and thinks it's the greatest gadget of all times, There's a bunch of different makes, all chinese so probably basically the same...I would check out ebay and or whoever sells them and look at the 1 and 2 star reviews, that should give you a pretty good idea of how they do.

I bought one this year for my ice shack, approximately 54 sq ft, gets it pretty warm in there in about 10 minutes when it's in the teens and twenties outside without much insulation in the ice shack. It sips the diesel (I actually use kerosene so the shack doesnt smell like diesel when I spill). Unlike the propane heaters, most require a constant 12v power source, though some are set up to run off 110v.

I love it for the application I use inside a hard side ice shack. I know plenty use them in their portable ice shacks too. It's a nice dry heat so it doesn't create condensation and with the exhaust vented outside, it's much less likely to kill ya with CO poisoning, though in your application in a generator shed it's likely not an issue. Some complain about the ticking noise from the fuel pump and pay hundreds more for a quiet version, but I barely noticed it once it warmed up.

The one I got was around $100. Figured if it didn't work or I didn't like it, I wasn't out much. Like anything else, there are going to be lemons, and with a fuel powered device like this, returns and exchanges are unlikely.

I think you're talking about this style of heater? I got one for my deer blind. It needs a 20 amp fuse because it draws nearly that at startup, but once it gets going it doesn't take much power. Maybe an amp or two on low, I don't remember. It uses very little fuel. I haven't used it much yet, but I like it so far. I got when it was on sale for $50.

It took a long time to prime the fuel the first time. The fuel line is semi-transparent, so with dyed off road diesel it was easy to see how far the fuel had made it. It just took a while the first time. Pushing fuel is easier than pulling it, so put the pump as close to the tank as you can and ideally not above it.

The fuel pumps are a solenoid type that makes a tick every time it pushes a little fuel. Its like a metronome. I probably won't use it when hunting deer because of the noise, but when we're harrassing coons or something like that its nice to have it. And when its dangerously cold its nice to know if I get too cold (or if I got wet) all the heat I need is just a button away. So even though I don't plan on using it deer hunting, I'm glad I have it.

I bought A Vevor that was $105 on Amazon. It's square and orange looking. I just wanted something to heat a small building with my generator in it. The building will have deep cell batteries
and a small solar system for the cabin.

Wanted auto start heater since the generator is auto start.

Thanks for the replies.

Not to trusting of Google reviews. Just like with protesters I always wonder if they are payed for.

I have always gotten better evaluations off of forums.
