I spoke with a very nice Kansas trapper yesterday. He had a lot of stories as most of us do. He has been trapping since the 60s. We swapped stories for a couple of hours. Got me to thinking about how many trappers from Kansas are in here. I think it would be good for me since I recently found out my health is declining and could talk with other local trappers in Kansas that I may not know

I just found this old trapping book from 1909.

I'm in Kansas. I live near Wichita, have hunting land in Sumner county. My trapping activity is just reducing predators and nuisaance critters on the hunting land.

NC KS. Got started in the mid 70's armed with a book by Stanley S. Hawbaker. Have been trapping off and on since.

I just trap my own land currently here in state. I came from Nebraska where I cut my teeth trapping and stacking up the coyotes. Tooo many people and tooo many free roaming dogs to trap much around me and actually enjoy it.

Been there once but definitely plan on going back.

I trap in Kansas. Most of my trapping is in Butler county. I've really focused on land trapping the last few years. Especially easy since we've been in a drought.

I also pull my line the day before "Furminator" ( I think that is his name, the guys that come from up north to trap Kansas every year) is headed this way. They have a habit of showing up right when the weather turns sour.

Been trapping Kansas since mid 50's as often as I could in school years and as time allowed until retirement in 2005 and have trapped a few of my favorite critters since.

Learned to trap in Kansas in the early 2000s in Barton County. Took a break from it while in college and started back into when we bought a house in rural Pawnee County. So glad to be back at it and enjoy taking my girls with me. I do miss selling to Trapper since he passed, I really learned a lot from talking with him when taking fur to him.

My grandpa knew trapper well. Use to work and trap with him back in the old days.
