Wanting to build a couple cage traps for cats. Where's the best place to buy quality wire? TIA.

Klubertanz used to be the place. Make sure it is "cage grade" or the squares will be off. Shipping will be the killer. easier to buy made cages anymore.

W.A. Davidson of Jax is one company that we use to buy wire. They are out of Florida.

Academy Fence Co. out of New Jersey is another source. Both have good sources of wire depending on what you need.

I couldn't find any so I used 1 x 2 rolled wire on mine, cheap and it worked really well. Made frames out of 1/4 inch round steel. They work well and materials are $50.00 apiece all-in.

Coon and other reaching animals will bring in lots of ground cover into the trap and anything else within reach using that kind of wire grid size.

X2 They can get their mouth through it too, to chew. They will make holes in it eventually. A rod type door helps concentrate their efforts on the door vs. the wire if you're going the cheapskate route that can sometimes save your wire a little longer.

I always bought my wire from Klubertantz but haven't bought any in a couple of years. Definitely stay away from the Chinese made junk.
