New ballistic advantage SPR barrel in her. 18" 1:7 twist. Few different guru's who shoot way better and way more then me along with most of the available literature said it should be the ticket for my usual.

Been messing around with it last two mornings and the thing just doesn't wanna shoot these heavy 60's . RMr or Hornady...which is weird since my other two love them . BLC-2 shot like crap as usual, tried a few more and just egh... Front red rear bag bipod read bag just egh. Tightened thing up a bit with the seating depth but still

Well just outta boredom I remember with the factory stuff it shot hornady 55gr HP's better then anything...so just loaded something up kinda close with the last few pieces of brass and

the bottom two groups and the 55gr control group don't look that different to me , yes one flier but if you take that one out they are really close.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

I like ballistic advantage. They’re the cheapest components that I trust. I’m kind of an AR snob, I like BCM, Spikes, Faxxon, and Black Rain. But I have 2 rifles built completely from BA/Aero parts, and they run good.

wolfie don't know what kind of groups you are wanting but all of them are trash. With that set up locked in front and back 5 rounds at 100 yds 3 if not four should be touching if it was any kind of decent round. Did'nt say they would be in bullseye. But that's what I'd go for. Good rifle/round should cover with a dime. mediocre cover with a nickel. Some say great if you cover with a quarter. I'd start over from scratch.

Meh in all honesty I'm a 1.5 - 2 Moa shooter on most days. Can shoot smaller but on average is what its if I can get a load to consistently shoot a little.ive for under an inch I'm happy..not about to lose my mind chasing bench rest accuracy. Not to mention my average shooting is still better then a large majority of people i see so laugh

My Ruger American Ranch likes 60 & heavier with the 1:8 twist. How tight does it lock up? Keep in mind, the receiver's still only pinned in to the lower in a couple spots?

Jbyrd, sounds like you should come out and try the MOA challenge. An all day shoot that started off when guys said their rifle can shoot MOA all day. Nobody's won that one yet...lol.

100 yard ? How many rounds. I have 3 rifles and you pick which one you want me to shoot............ first one cold bore will be 1/4 -3/8 off the rest of the 5 shots. 270 and 222 you will look thru a magnifying glass to count the holes. 6mm that has possible 10,000 rounds thru it 2 of 5 will be off the same 1/4 - 3/8
270 federal factory loads
222 hand loads
6 mm hand loads.

I don't tinker with loads/ rifles anymore. But when I did if they only shot some of the groups I see on here (and I had a few) they left . Tried 4-5 different combos and if couldn't get them dialed in moved on...

Brass is on its 3rd firing as of this load . No annel , RCBS lube pad ,full length sized small base die , cases fired formed at 1.456 bumped the shoulders back to 1.454, wet tumbled , primer pockets swaged because these are Lake city and they have the crimped pockets. Dryed in the dehydrator then primed with a feeder ar gold metal march SRP. So really nothing spectacular

As tight as your gonna get this sucker without doing a bunch of crazy stuff. Got one of those little please wedge deal that fits under the rear take down pin thingy.

As long as it's floating around a inch at 100's off the bench bipod and tripod I'm good

On a slight side note , figured out when you rach the bolt,if you stick you finger out it'll stop that brass from flying a extra few feet lol

Nice! Your pick. Now can you do it all day? It’s nothing stupid, there’s cool down time so guys aren’t smoking their barrels. But I don’t know of anyone that’s done it. It’s only MOA so it should be easy!

WD91, I guess you built this thing just to fool around with? Stuff like that is something a Canadian would try before they prohibited the lowers too…lol.
Hopefully things might get changed back to normal here before the end of the month.
