I've wanted a green house since I was about 5, when my family first sent to the Conservatory in Cincinnati, Ohio in Eden Park. I discovered a few years ago, by accident, that the white 55 gallon barrels and IBC totes make good cheap to free greenhouses, similar to a cold frame. I put them to use this last Winter. I'd still like a beautiful real greenhouse though.

Rhubarb seed is the next new thing here.
Often see it grown as foundation planting
on North side.
Seed pack says all sun.
I'll probably goof this up.

I'll be starting my cucumbers, zucchini, & melons this weekend. I already have broccoli and cabbage in the low tunnels. Hoping to get the garden in around Easter. May be a little later though, as we are supposed to get 10-15" of rain this weekend, then its supposed to cool off.

I would like one too. The only drawback is I would have to heat it and I don't want that bother. I just do my 90 or so plants inside the house in our Arizona room. We got an upright standing 5 rack greenhouse in there and works great! Next week the 48 individual two tray containers will be started with melons, squash and pumpkins. Tomatoes are looking great so far.

That is a beauty of a green house!!

Around here, unless a guy likes planting stuff twice, nothing from a greenhouse goes into a garden until Memorial Day.

That’s the general rule around here, but in the majority of years lately things appear to be trending fairly safe to plant earlier. Always gonna be a risk though!

I’m still waiting on my seed order to arrive, should have been here last week!

Happy trapping! ScottW
