Who has read The Sign of the Beaver? I first had this book read to me and my class in around 3rd or 4th grade. The book is based on the adventure of 13 year old Theophilis Sargent the son of Benjamin Sargent the first white settler of my hometown Milo, Maine as Benjamin left him behind at their soon to be homestead while he returned to Massachusetts for the rest of the family in the 1700s.
