I think there will be a gap but it will fill quickly. There will be a burden short term because the employee pool has zero experience. I’m fairly certain that like me, your Grandfather and father made sure you knew how to do things and weren’t afraid to let you try them, gaining valuable experience that you have learned by now to apply to other things that come up in life. That is lost in today’s world or is not as common as it once was. Doesn’t equate to folks not being willing to do those things.

They are paying a living wage, the Mexicans are living on them. As a matter of fact, a lot of these jobs they are working at pay piece work, if you want to work as hard as some of them do, you can make pretty good money. The problem is that you can make as good of money sucking off the government tit, and not working.

I put on a crap load of roofs as a skinny, white college kid. Made dang good money, too. The labor force is out there, if the money is right. The roofing contractors are, certainly, charging plenty for their illegal work force, based on my homeowner's insurance rates and the "special" roof deductible.
