How to Snare the Wretched Coyote, by Captain Hook
Avast, ye trembling greenhorns! If ye seek to outwit the sly, skulking beast known as the coyote, ye must think like a pirate and set yer trap with cunning fit for the high seas! These mangy, gold-hearted devils slink through the night, thieving and howling as if Davy Jones himself gave ‘em a voice. But fear not! With a bit o’ bait, a wicked snare, and a heart as black as the deep, ye can send ‘em straight to the brig!
First, find the trails these scallywags tread—look for their prints in the dirt, their droppings near watering holes, or their howls splitting the cursed silence of dusk. Mark the spot well, for that be where ye lay yer trap. A proper snare, rigged with wire as strong as a pirate’s resolve, should hang just so, ready to snap shut ‘round the beast’s thievin’ neck or scrawny leg!
But wait! A coyote be no fool. Nay, it be as sly as that accursed Pan, always sniffin’ out treachery. So hide yer trap well, beneath a dusting of earth or a scrap o’ cloth soaked in the scent of fresh meat. A bit o’ rabbit or a haunch of chicken, ripe and reekin’, will lure ‘em close like a siren’s song to a sailor’s doom!
And when at last the cur steps forth, nose twitchin’, eyes dartin’, SNAP! The trap springs, and the beast be caught! It will thrash, it will snarl, but its fate be sealed, as surely as if it walked the plank!
So there ye have it, ye scurvy wretches! A trap fit for a captain’s vengeance. Now go forth and capture yer prize—but beware, for if ye falter, the coyote will be laughin’ in the moonlight, and ye’ll be naught but a fool left empty-handed!
Savvy? Now, away with ye!

Ahoy, ye lily-livered landlubber! If ye be seekin’ to ensnare that buck-toothed bilgerat known as the beaver, then heed the words of Captain Hook, scourge of the Seven Seas and nemesis of that accursed Pan!
First, ye must set yer sights on the beast’s domain—a watery fortress of sticks and mud, a right clever construction, though not as grand as me own ship, the Jolly Roger! Approach with caution, lest ye spook the whiskered wretch into his murky depths, for he’s as slippery as that blasted crocodile what took me hand!
Now, to the trap! A steel contraption with jaws as cruel as me own hook shall serve ye well—set it near the dam or along the beast’s well-worn trail. Bait it with the sweet scent of fresh poplar or castoreum, for the beaver be a fool for such perfumes. Once he steps upon the trigger, SNAP! The trap clamps down, and he’s caught like a mutinous deckhand in irons!
But beware, ye scurvy swab, for the beaver be no ordinary rodent! He’ll fight with tooth and tail, and should ye be careless, ye may find yer own hand in the drink, much like I did all them years ago. Dispatch him swiftly, or cage him if ye be wishin’ to keep the furry fiend as a pet—though I’d sooner keep a nest of vipers in me quarters than a thrashin’ beaver!
So go forth, ye would-be trapper, and may fortune favor ye! But mark me words—if ye fail, the beaver shall laugh last, and ye’ll be left wetter than a ship in a storm! Arrr!
Keith

Ahoy, ye witless swab! If ye be lookin’ to snare that masked marauder known as the raccoon, then listen close, lest ye find yerself outwitted by the cunning little bilge rat!
The raccoon be a sneaky devil, with paws as nimble as a pickpocket in Tortuga. He scurries about at night, plundering trash heaps and pilfering stores like a right proper rogue. But even the craftiest of thieves can be caught—if ye set yer trap with the mind of a true pirate!
First, ye must choose yer trap wisely! A sturdy cage trap with a spring-loaded door be yer best bet, for the raccoon be strong and none too fond of captivity. Set this devious device near his usual haunts—by barrels, garbage heaps, or any place he’s been known to skulk. Bait it with the sweetest of treasures—marshmallows, fish, or a bit of honey, for the greedy beast cannot resist a free meal!
But beware, ye barnacle-brained buffoon! The raccoon be a trickster, quick to learn and quicker to escape. If yer trap be not secured, he’ll pry it open with them cursed clever fingers of his and be off with yer bait, laughing at ye like that infernal Pan!
Once ye’ve caught the scoundrel, handle him with care, lest he claw ye worse than a mermaid’s scorn! Dispose of him as ye see fit—release him far from yer lands, or, if ye be of a darker mind, deal with him as ye would a mutinous crewman.
So there ye have it, ye bumbling landlubber! Set yer trap, mind yer wits, and may the winds be ever in yer favor—else the raccoon bests ye, and ye find yerself the fool of the forest! Arrr!
