Fun fact, the deer in my neck of the woods shed their antlers in December. Shoot them in the head with a rifle and *POP* you got a cherry top.

Seen a small buck here yesterday , still packing.

Not sure if the deer on the right is a young buck or a doe, but it doesn't look healthy.

Not enough Pumpkins in its diet

I know with elk they sort of have a predictable order of shedding.

Usually the bulls with their first set of antlers shed first.

Then the mature bulls (5 -10+ yrs old) shed second.

Then your raghorns shed last.

I don't see how it would be much different with deer.

I was once in Michigan, near Ann Arbor, in mid April and saw 11 bucks with at least one antler still. I usually first find antlers here in January.

The home in Minnesota is on a golf course and the other day I saw a real dandy heavy ten point walking around there.

I see some every year while turkey hunting and that starts mid April till mid May. Seen one a couple days ago both sides still giving the high 5.
