Hello, I was wanting to get some expert advice. Does this trap look like a Newhouse slick pan version? I’m newer in collecting traps.

I believe it is. Springs should be stamped unless they are too pitted.

I believe it is a slick pan, but somethings not right w that trap. the top spring eyes dont lock up with the shoulder of the jaws. I bought a trap off ebay that was a slick pan, but the springs also didnt lock up with the jaws. I dont think they came from the factory like that or its worn from time and use, somebody at some time swapped parts. Just my opinion.

The shoulders wear out on the jaws eventually. Then the spring can jump past that spot. It can be fixed with a welder but must be done tastefully and in a small way not a big way.
The easiest way to determine if your looking at a true slick pan is look at the pan posts.
Every Newhouse slick pan I’ve seen 1-4 has a handmade sheet metal split pan post. If it has a u shaped cast pan post I definitely would not buy it as a true Newhouse slick.
There is quite a few early wrap around pans that are wore out or even sanded down to look like slicks but the pan post will tell the truth.

Sorry for the dumb question. But what part of the trap is the pan post?

The pan and it's support pivot right at the pan post.
