If you have seen a wild wolf photo in National Geographic or some other well know magazine, there are good odds that Jim Brandenberg took it.

He was either a southwest Minnesota boy or ended up living there because our Soo Foo based local TV news covered his death in a brief story. However, last night none of the obits I saw had any examples or links to his work.

This one does, but obviously it was geared towards Euros who were willing to buy his photos. I'm neither a wolf lover or hater so don't really care that much about them given that they aren't a part of this part of North America anymore. I do think Brandenberg captured some outstanding "ink".

I just bought a "Brother Wolf" 24" by 32" poster at his gallery in Ely about a week ago.
