Hello, I was interested in investing in one of these. Does anyone have one or experience with one? I see they start around $500 and don't know if that is sufficient in locating an animal in the wall. They really go up from there in pricing and don't know what all the numbers mean and what's the difference. Thanks in advance.

Why do you want to locate an animal in a wall?
But
I believe Flir is one of the best optic available, if you spend ……

Well its baby season. In the event a customer doesn't want to wait until the baby squirrels are mobile and doesn't want them rotting in the wall. It's inevitable.

There’s lots of different levels of FLIR. I’ve seen ones that allow you to see the wires in walls. The never have, not so good. Prepare to break out your wallet for a good one.

I have a C5, it works well. I don't always have success with it in attics if they are deep in the insulation. I have found several flying squirrel dens in ceilings. I don't cut them out, but it helps with diagnosis, e.g., unsure if your dealing with mice vs flyers.

I have used it to find kits once.

The big thing is watching the temp instead of focusing on the colors on the screen. There is a learning curve. I'm still learning!

I believe FLIR means Forward Looking Infra Red camera, like on police helicopters, But I think what your looking for info on is an Infra Red Camera?
