Our club had our monthly shoot today. We had a great turnout and great weather.

Here's a pic of the wide variety of guns that show up. Everything from 32 caliber to 62 caliber. Colonial flinters to civil war muskets. Even a fancy German Jaeger rifle

We've been pretty lucky so far this year.
51 and sunny today. Just a light breeze.

We had our 4-H muzzle loader shoot yesterday it was a little cooler but still great weather

In April anything that isn't 33-40 and rain or blowing snow in 3 directions at once is good weather

Had 10 shooters , double last year , our post covid numbers are rebounding , but the kids lost in 20, 21 are not really the ones filling the numbers , it is the new kids

our 3-5th graders are a big group and they have to be 12 for powder burning which few 5th graders are.

I sure like the looks of that flinter one up from the bottom with the really nice tiger maple , that is one sharp looking gun .

Pete, that flinter is my sister's rifle. It is a Jim Chambers Lancaster kit in .54 caliber, stocked by my dad.

Blak, fourth one up is my 36 caliber squirrel rifle. Its made in the style of John Rupp, brother to the more well known Hermann Rupp. Both were LeHigh Valley gunmakers. Somewhat similar to Bucks County. That rifle was also stocked by my dad.

Vinke, no idea on scores yet, we'll find out in a week or so. I do know I shot a 47x (out of 50) at 25 yards and a 45xx at 50 yards. Those are the main scored targets we shoot every month and track for a yearly aggregate score.

Nessmuck, fire up the Goat and head west. Plenty of rusty vechiles here for you to set up shop.

Nice that you got that there. I decided to get back into muzzleloaders a bit. Was going to build something along the lines of an English Sporting rifle crossed with a plains type gun. No need to build one now found one for less than the cost of parts, really not much more than a rice barrel alone costs. Judging by the tack work I'd say it looks like an Indian got his hands on it sometime back too . Big old .675 bore, rifling still looks good. I don't know how to put pictures on here otherwise I would,

Now I got the itch to break out my front stuffers and fling a little lead. I have a .50 cal Jaeger I built years ago along with a 32. cal Poorboy flinter my brothe built for me. They are fun to shoot!

Not when everything works properly.

There can be hang fires resulting from poor spark, wet priming, blocked touch hole, etc.
