If yer gonna be cheap, you gotta be creative. Actually worked pretty slick to break the beads. Wrasslin the tire off was a little more work.

Another option: put 2x6 scraps from the concrete up on the edge of the tire so the 2x6 is like ramp. The 2x should end on the tire, up against the wheel, but not on it. Then drive something up on it.

Slide the tire under the bumper and set the jack between the tire and the bumper.

I've changed lots of tires by breaking the bead this way and then using tire irons to take them off and install new tires. Ten plies can suck, as can low profiles on those big rims that are so popular these days. Otherwise, use lots of soap and it isn't bad.

I don't have a skid loader. And I've seen me drive one, haha.

I was trying to be as gentle as possible on the tires, as I am just taking them off to refinish the wheels. These tires are going back on.

Thats the easy part. Getting off wheel is where I struggle.

I changed plenty of tires as a GM tech for 11 years. I knew what had to be done, just had to improvise the tools. A couple long 3/8 extensions did the trick. Wouldn't want to try that on 10 ply's or low profile tires though. Tire spoons would have been easier.

Very clever! For the longest time I didn’t know that tires and wheels were two different things crazy

There is a short side (right) and the long side (wrong) when demounting and mounting tires.

A spade also works if you're not caring about the tire.
